WARRANTY PROCEDURE – ELECTRIC MOTORS In the event of a motor failure please follow the following steps to ensure that your claim is processed in a timely manner. NO-FAULT WARRANTY POLICY PROCEDURE Motors with frame sizes 215T and smaller are covered under our “No-Fault Warranty”. The warranty period is 24 or 36 months from the date of invoice (see warranty periods above). The special limited warranty is offered one time per end-user, per application. If there is more than one failure, please follow our standard Limited Warranty Policy and Procedure and contact our Warranty Department for assistance. When filing a claim under our “No-Fault Warranty” you must provide the following documentation to ensure your claim is processed in a timely manner. 1.) Original nameplate from the failed motor 2.) Copy of the original North American Electric, Inc. invoice or the invoice number for the failed motor 3.) A brief description of the failure for quality control purposes Note: Please make a legible copy of the nameplate for your records. STANDARD WARRANTY POLICY PROCEDURE Step 1. Have the motor inspected by a qualified service shop to determine if the problem is a result of defects in materials and/or workmanship. If the problem is a result of defects in materials and/or workmanship North American Electric, Inc. will pay a reasonable inspection fee for the inspection that will include a written warranty report that describes the cause of failure along with photographs that show, in detail, what is described in the warranty report. Step 2. Contact our warranty department and be prepared to provide the following information and documentation: 1.) Serial Number 2.) Model Number 3.) EASA Report 4.) Photographs showing the cause of failure 5.) Estimated cost of repair 6.) Nameplate (photo of nameplate for stainless steel / washdown duty motors) if motor is replaced. Step 3. Our warranty department will determine whether to replace or repair the defective motor. DO NOT repair any motor without prior written purchase order from North American Electric, Inc. Always be sure to take clear photographs before beginning any repair work. If the motor is replaced you must send in the nameplate of the failed motor to receive credit for the replacement motor. A photo of the nameplate will be accepted for stainless steel / washdown duty motors.
